Browser Wars: Google Unleashes Chrome!

In its most aggressive attack on Microsoft to date, inside sources with knowledge of the Chrome project said that Google is preparing to unveil its brand new browser for download as early as TODAY to try and loosen Microsoft’s stranglehold on the most vital piece of navigating software for the internet.

The launch is supposedly today, but I have not seen it anywhere. I’d be surprised if Google launched this in such a mediocre way and not anything similar to how Firefox did the 3.0 launch. Let’s see what happens, but one thing is for sure, if they are truly launching this, it will be a total improvement of any (if not all) Firefox plug-in downsides as well as the Firefox browser design.

It's not an official "launch" but rather a beta release. Sobrang labong tapos na ung Chrome para irelease as a full product.

I am already using the browser.

My impression on this is like Mozilla Firefox minus some toolbars and addons.
There are some Bugs when viewing some websites like Plurk.com pero restart lang ng browser then its all good.

Also wala ding ung option ng Firefox na pag isasara ang browser, may option kung isasave ang last viewing websites in which in my case eh dapat kasama dito sa Chrome because its very useful sa akin.

Also the Browser looks simple pero it cant be customized. Pero I think sometime it will be added.

Overall, Use Firefox muna habang chrome is still on its Beta stages. But if you want to see and try it. Go ahead and try it.

am already using it. di naman ako masyado adik sa paggamit ng add ons ng mozilla and opera. i'm just happy na may function ang ctrl+left click (new tab) and shift+left click (new window) nila tuwing magbubukas ako ng new link.

mababa din ang memory usage nya. so kahit beta stages palang, impressed nako.

and its simplicity really resembles google. kahit di pa sya tapos, sya na ang default browser ko

err less frills = less memory. Gaya ng sabi ni Zae, it's firefox minus ALL the add-ons.

Lightweight yes but in a world where (geeks lang ha?) are running a minimum of 2GB RAM why drop all the conviniences of firefox/opera? Wish ko lang.. pumasok sya sa domain ng portable devices. OK na ung Opera sa CPs pero it's still heavy. Technically it's going to cellphones BUT on the Android platform... sana magkaroon ng support for all CP OS.

I'm a little bit skeptic about IE because of its reputation for eating too much memory. But I will try it if I have a better system.
