The Ichiraku forums is maintained and operated by Akee and Zanyuki as the official message board of the Ichiraku community. As such, we expect you to treat your fellow members with courtesy, and to conduct yourselves in utmost civility when participating, posting, and interacting with the other members.
These rules and guidelines are not exhaustive; the Administrators and the Moderators reserve the right to take action for and against as they see fit. Furthermore, these rules are not language-restrictive; they can be enforced regardless of the language of the posts or the poster.
Keep in mind that ignorance of these rules and regulations does not excuse the members from sanctions or punishments earned from violations of these codes of conduct. We expect you to abide by these rules and keep common sense paramount in your participation in the forum.
I. NAMING CONVENTION
[penalty: Admin renaming of account/display name]
1.) Usernames and display names should be limited to Roman characters (Aa, Bb, Cc, etc). There is no theoretical limit as to how long your name should be, but we suggest keeping it simple.
2.) Special characters are allowed for a name only when it does not comprise over half of the name. Foreign characters (e.g. Japanese, Arabic, Korean, etc) will not be allowed.
3.) User names, display names, or real names of any Ichiraku staff member are not allowed. Furthermore, the name Ichiraku itself, its subsidiaries, nor its sister organizations, affiliates, and sponsors are not allowed, unless the member is a representative of such organization or has secured permit from the administrators of Ichiraku.
4.) Users are not allowed to change their display names. If they need to do so, they can file a request for name change with an attached reason. The Administrators reserve the right to reject or refuse such requests if the reason/s provided are not sufficient or are not justifiable.
II. ACCOUNTS
[penalties: account deletion, probation]
1.) There can be only ONE (1) account per person. Should we find out that you own multiple accounts, we will delete ALL your later accounts and keep your oldest one.
2.) You are responsible for your own account security. Do not give out your account details to anyone. We will not be held liable for any damage caused by this irresponsibility on your part.
3.) By no means are you allowed to use any staff member's account, permitted or otherwise. Such offense will be grounds for placing the member in an Under Probation status.
4.) Impersonating an Ichiraku staff or member for any purposes, regardless of duty or circumstance, and deliberately providing false or misleading information, are grounds for account deletion and permanent suspension from the forums.
5.) Assumption of another account, personality, appearance or personal content without consent from its owner or author is not allowed.
6.) We reserve the right to delete an inactive account without notice to its owner.
III. TRADES
[penalty: account suspension, permanent suspension]
1.) We have an exclusive board for this (see Traders' Corner); do not engage in buying and selling in other boards. We allow only buying, selling, and renting of commodities and services.
2.) Please be reminded that should you enter a transaction with any member, you are liable for any effects it might cause.
3.) Transactions using real-world currency are governed by Philippine and international laws. Depending on the severity of the offense, cases could be elevated to a prosecutor.
4.) Ichiraku and its management will not be held responsible for any illicit trades made between or among members. Enter transactions at your own risk.
5.) Trades made between members are the responsibility of those that entered the contract and/or transaction; Ichiraku does NOT sponsor any transaction using real-world currency.
6.) The only official transaction sponsored by Ichiraku is the Premium Membership.
7.) By no means are members allowed to solicit, or ask for, money, commodities, or services for personal or corporate use or gain in Ichiraku. Advertisements promoting such shall be removed.
IV. PRIVACY
[penalties: account suspension, permanent suspension]
1.) Ichiraku does not allow invasion of privacy. Members have the right to disclose which parts of their personal information they deem fit for public consumption.
2.) Members are not allowed to badger, threaten, or blackmail other users of the forums to divulge their sensitive information.
3.) The staff have the final say on which personal information of member/s can be shown to the public.
4.) Members have the right to update their personal information or profile without notice, or to change them as they wish.
V. INAPPROPRIATE CONTENT
[penalties: warnings, account suspension]
1.) Inappropriate content covers not only those of adult nature but those inciting religious/ethnic hatred, extreme prejudice and social bigotry, sexual aggression, anarchy, violence, and the use of illegal drugs. All these are prohibited.
2.) Furthermore, all images, links or videos promoting, or leading to, such is not allowed.
VI. HARASSMENT/DEFAMATION
[penalties: warnings, account suspension]
1.) Posts, articles or messages, private or public, with clear or masked language with the sole intention of causing discomfort and the ruin of another's credibility is strictly prohibited.
2.) In addition, links to websites, webpages, images, videos that have a clear intention of insulting any person, or a group of people, is not allowed.
3.) Name-calling, labeling, or epithets, racial/ethnic/group slurs (with the intention to cause discomfort) are also prohibited.
4.) Posts, articles, messages, images, videos or any form of media, in clear or masked language that has the intention of, or leading to, the violation of privacy agreements of the members, or the defamation of Ichiraku, its members, its staff, and its community, are also likewise prohibited and are all subject to the Sanctions table.
VII. FLAMES AND TROLLING
[penalties: warnings, account suspension]
1.) "Flaming" is defined by either, or both sides descending into personal mud-slinging with the intent of causing the discomfort of another, directly or indirectly referred to. It is natural to have heated debates, but the Codex will step into arguments that are too hot due to repeated flaming from any side.
2.) "Trolling" is deliberately inciting someone or a group of people to rage (also called flame-baiting), thus causing a flame war. A troll who has been discovered to have made a statement, a topic, media, or link shall be issued a sanction from the administration of Ichiraku. In such cases where the troll is effective, those who have responded in belligerent manner without regard for the rules of Ichiraku will also be penalized.
VIII. SPAM AND OFF-TOPIC POSTS
[penalties: negative Reputation, warnings]
1.) Our spam board, Random, is an anything-goes board that DOES NOT count posts made in it. While rules are normally more lenient in Babble Bubble, forum-wide rules still apply in it.
2.) Spam is a non-constructive post that is in tangent to the original intention or the scope of the topic at hand. It is also defined by repetitively making the same, or similar, messages over and over again in a single topic or thread.
IX. DISCUSSION/SPECULATION OF SANCTIONS ON ANY SANCTIONED MEMBER
[penalties: post/thread removal, warnings]
1.) To avoid unfair bashing and breakdown of the community, we will be prohibiting the discussion of all things related to the sanctions system (unless otherwise stated by an Administrator or a Moderator) and the penalty administered to an erring member.
2.) Chat logs/archives, correspondences, PMs and User Warnings will not be made publicly available unless requested by a staff member, and only in review of a sanctioned case.
3.) The Stockade is a special read-only thread where Administrators and Moderators list members with violations. A record in the Stockade is permanent unless an Administrator makes an act of clemency to expunge a user's record.
4.) Anyone who has a record in the Stockade is ineligible for any official Ichiraku contest.
5.) Only an Administrator may use his or her powers to enact "amnesty" and "clemency". Amnesty is removing existing sanctions on a user or an account. Clemency is an annual act of expunging the Stockade and its list of offenses and offenders.
X. EXCLUSIVE GROUPS
[penalties: account suspension, permanent suspension]
1.) There are exclusive groups within Ichiraku that have their own respective boards, example of which are the Premium Members, the Boys/Girls Club, and so on. Information contained therein are exclusive to the members of the group and under no circumstances are to be exposed, disseminated and/or discussed in any other board aside from that exclusive board.
2.) One such board is the Administrative Forbidden Scroll board. Widespread dissemination of unannounced or unreleased updates, without Administrator permission for the forums will be dealt with accordingly.
3.) The Administrators have all the right to dissolve and/or disband a group, or groups, without prior notification to the group's constituents.
XI. OFFENSIVE LANGUAGE
[penalties: post modification, warnings]
1.) We allow the use of strong expressions such as "shit" and "fuck" but only in the context of discussion.
2.) Such language will not be allowed however in the Introductions board.
3.) Such language is strictly not allowed when used for derogatory remarks directed to another person or organization.
XII. ON AVATARS, IMAGES, AND SIGNATURES
[penalties: warnings, deletion of avatar/signature/user-posted image]
1.) You can post up to three (3) direct links to images, as the forum automatically resizes images if they are too large. If, however, your images exceed 3 in number, use clickable thumbnails instead.
2.) Avatars must not exceed 100x100 in dimensions and 200kb in size.
3.) There can only be TWO (2) allowable separate signature images per user, plus up to TWO (2) clan image signatures. Contiguous images with the same dimensions, even if they are different images, will be counted as one image and will be subject to the following rule. You can post up to two clan image signatures other than your main image signature, for a total combination of up to four (4) signatures.
4.) Clan image signatures have the allowed dimensions of 200x80.
5.) Each main image signature must not exceed 500 pixels in width and 300 pixels in height and 500kb in size.
6.) You can post quotes, short phrases or sentences in a signature, but it must not exceed seven (7) lines of text. In addition, you can also put links in your signature. These however are subject to Item V and VI.
7.) You are responsible for the format of your signature. You can use BBCodes to make your signature as attractive or as organized as possible.
XIII. ADVERTISEMENT OF OTHER FORUMS
[penalties: post deletion, warnings]
1.) You are not allowed to explicitly advertise or plug any other online community in Ichiraku outside the Plug Socket board, or as links in your signature or profile.
2.) The Plug Socket is a special, non-post-counting board that is a collective of all "plugs" or advertisements made by the members as long as they are not made for commercial purposes.
3.) The Administrators have the sole right to advertise or plug other online communities, establishments, or organizations, as part of our official sponsors and/or affiliates.
XIV. POSTING LANGUAGE/CHARACTERS/FORMAT
[penalties: post/thread deletion, warning PM, offense count/s]
1.) Since Ichiraku is a Filipino forum owned and operated by Filipinos, the only languages allowed are English and Filipino.
2.) You can post in other Filipino dialects and/or foreign languages (Spanish, Japanese, Korean, etc.) provided that there is ample translation for the post, or it is a PM to another person who understands it.
3.) Other dialects and/or languages may be used in custom titles, signatures, or any profile item as long as it's not within a post.
4.) Forum games (e.g. Patintero Online) that use other dialects and/or foreign languages will be allowed.
5.) Discussion in foreign languages will not be allowed in any other board except Patintero Online (only when used as a game) and in Babble Bubble.
6.) Snippets or phrases of foreign languages (e.g. "Ja mata ne!" or "Au revoir!") will be allowed inside posts but ONLY IF they are commonplace, or if there are no English or Filipino equivalent available (e.g. "ad hoc" or "ad infinitum").
8.) Aforementioned phrases that are not commonplace will only be allowed if they have a corresponding translation AFTER the phrase.
9.) Be considerate when mix-and-matching the format for your posts; make them as clear and as understandable as possible. It is the duty of everyone to make their messages legible. Those caught using patterns that cause undesirable feeling (like bright colors or gaudy, illegible font faces) will be edited by the moderators.
XV. MODERATOR DECORUM
[penalties: suspension of moderating powers, account suspension]
1.) Moderators are not only those in charge of a board, or boards, but as representatives of the vision and mission of the leadership, the administrators, and the philosophy espoused by the community. Therefore, as role models, they should be responsible to their duties, must be able to carry out the provisions stated in the Codex, and prioritize their moderatorship first before their personal opinion and bias.
2.) Moderators, board or global, shall be subject to this rule and must act in the best interests of the community as a whole. Those who cross this rule will be subject for examination from the administrators. Members are strongly encouraged to be vigilant against power abuse (often called "power-tripping") from the moderators, and to report them when able.
3.) We will not entertain reports that do not have sufficient evidence. Make sure you have at least screenshots or logs to support your claims.
XVI. SANCTIONS TABLE
Reputation Levels
Reputation Levels start from zero and continue on to either side, to negative reputation and to positive reputation. While members can only give 1 negative reputation per day, moderators can give 1 negative reputation an hour, and administrators can bypass this limit completely. Negative reputation levels have corresponding sanctions, as outlined below:
-500 = indefinite suspension from the forums
-150 = post count reduction, cannot post for 1 day
-80 = cannot post for 1 day
-40 = all topic/subscriptions cleared, deletion of all private messages
-20 = all posts made will have moderator approval before appearing
-5 = all exclusive board memberships (ie Red Carpet, Boys' and Girls' Clubs, Adult Zone) will be suspended.
Administrators can see who gave reputation, and to whom they gave it to. If the post is not constructive in nature, or it does not promote healthy discussion and yet it was given reputation, the reputation-giver shall be penalized the same amount.
Temporary Account Suspension
1.) 7-day Account Suspension - done when the user has entered Under Probation status three times.
Permanent Suspension
1.) Earned when the user has not shown any form of contriteness or apology to the violation, which may have earned him or her a Temporary Account Suspension prior.
2.) Deliberate and/or planned disruption of Ichiraku's service, personal attacks against any staff member or regular member.
Account Deletion
1.) For inactive accounts.
2.) For multiple accounts.
2.) Used for incorrigible users who repeatedly try to disrupt other users or the management by creating other accounts.

1.) Earned when the user has not shown any form of contriteness or apology to the violation, which may have earned him or her a Temporary Account Suspension prior.
2.) Deliberate and/or planned disruption of Ichiraku's service, personal attacks against any staff member or regular member.

1.) For inactive accounts.
2.) For multiple accounts.
2.) Used for incorrigible users who repeatedly try to disrupt other users or the management by creating other accounts.
