When you think of it, yun ang orig na premise ng Holders themselves. Risking life and limb, going against insurmountable odds, where if you fail your descent to insanity becomes a blessing, for an item imbued with powers beyond mortal comprehension...lahat yun themes ng mga gawa ni Lovecraft. Insanity. Powers Beyond. Futility even in victory. I bet sa Arkham Asylum (hindi yung AA na kinalalagayan nila Penguin etc, mind you) me ward para lang sa mga Holders. Something along the lines of, "Excuse me, nandito ba ang Holder of The End?" "Ay sorry sir puno na po ang Visitor Slots nya ngayon e, may I interest you in another Holder instead?".

And what are Holders but once Seekers who have failed in the most ironic way possible?

Yung previous post ko e suggestion lang sa magdradrawing, kasi nakita ko yung skteches a few pages before. Needs more dark dark dark. I'm just suggesting the flavor of the settings of this...RPGinteractive fiction thingy. With the paintings above as reference.

I see, akala ko they go Black Widow afterwards...pero wouldn't eventually promote defects caused by inbreeding, kasi technically incest ang ginagawa nila diba? Or aayusin na yun ng mga geneticists-servants sa Court?

with all due to respect to Lovecraft, such themes are okay, but we are gunning for a more original and unique look. ToH is dark, insane, and terrible, but we are adding something like an original flavor to it. not that the Holders are original ideas; after all they're stories submitted by Anons.

indeed such orgies are incest. but that's the main point of this story. ToH is meant to shock, to cross the boundaries of taboo. we are not making something like a mythos of the dark and terrifying supernatural forces beyond our understanding; we are dealing with the dark and terrifying forces of the human mind, what we are capable of doing.
